we were christian soldiers once and young

No one has greater love than this, that someone would lay down his life for his friends.  - Jesus of Nazareth

There is a time when ordinary men are asked to do extraordinary things.  But what happens afterwards?  Where do you go.  Who do you talk to about the extraordinary things you saw and experienced?  What do you do with the heavy load you've been left to carry?  It's really quite simple, and difficult at the same time.  Finding those who have shed blood in war is not hard to do.  Ask anyone if they have served in the military or served in church leadership.  If their answer is yes, then they have surely shed blood.  Take the next step with them.  Start talking.  Start praying.  Start over.  Help them to live again.  Be their friend.  Walk with them.  Give of yourself.  No matter what they do or what they say, do not abandon them.  Do not leave them wounded and laying on the battle field.   more

"We few, we happy few, we band of brothers; For he today that sheds his blood with me Shall be my brother."
Henry V
